Linda is a graduate of Kikkawa College’s (Toronto, ON, Canada) 2,200 hour Professional Therapeutic Massage Program. She has been Board Certified under Ontario’s Regulated Health Care Professionals Act since 1988. Her work as a Massage Therapist has been in private and multi-disciplinary practices in the United States and Canada. In 1991, Linda started conducting Continuing Education classes at the local Community College.
After teaching for several years, she went on to develop a 685- hour Wellness Massage Program at the Community College. From 1998-2001, Linda taught in a 2,200- hour curriculum in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Most recently she was the Director of Wholistic Studies at Lourdes Health Center in New Jersey.
Always an active member of her professional association, she served as Executive Committee Secretary and Vice-President of the Canadian National Association.
Additional Advanced Certifications: Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage- Basic Level (1989) and Pre-& Peri-natal Massage Therapy (2000). She is currently studying the Belavi Facelift Massage Technique.
Prior to entering the field of Massage Therapy Linda spent ten years in Property Management and Residential Leasing. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
Treatments Offered
Advanced Swedish Massage
Following the basic protocol of traditional Swedish Massage Therapy, Linda incorporates an eclectic blend including Deep Tissue, Connective Tissue, Sports Massage and/or Trigger Point Therapy into this treatment. Your medical history, comfort levels and how you are feeling at the time of the session are always taken into consideration. This relaxing massage actually helps work out those kinks. An hour- long session is recommended.
Rehabilitative Massage
Based in Advanced Swedish, this massage is treatment oriented and designed specifically to deal with chronic pain and/or injury. It may not include a full body massage, but rather is a focused session to address conditions such as Frozen Shoulder, Whiplash or Repetitive Strain Injury. Recommended minimum session length is 45 minutes.
Aromatherapy Massage
This wonderfully relaxing massage is excellent for dealing with acute pain, high levels of stress and/or travel fatigue. It’s techniques are light, and not the “kneading” strokes usually associated with Massage, but are similar to Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Reflex Manipulations that primarily address the Central Nervous System. The treatment includes a ten minute rest period and Essential oils are used their specific therapeutic benefits.
Pregnancy Massage
This is the perfect massage for dealing with the stresses and strains of a normally healthy pregnant woman. Proper positioning for the trimester of the pregnancy and use of varied Swedish and Connective Tissue Sculpting strokes address the myriad of changes that occur in the gravid body. Medical approval is required prior to the treatment for woman with serious or chronic health issues. Treatment length is from 30 minutes to one hour.
